- A roadworthy inspection usually takes around 2 hours. This does differ depending on the vehicle's age, condition and how busy the workshop is. The inspection checks the main safety items that make the vehicle safe for public roads, including tyres, brakes, steering, suspension, lights, seatbelts, windows and other safety-related items as mandated by VicRoads.
